Could DEI win you a Cannes Lion? Hell, yeah!
Is DEI crushing it at Cannes Lion?
This National Inclusion Week, we wanted to bring you a fresh POV on Thursday, September 30, 4-5pm.
With one of the most progressive leaders in the DEI space, Efrain Ayala, Global Director of Diversity & Inclusion, Marketing Excellence at Reckitt, we trawled through the Cannes Lion winners from 2021.
Here's what we uncovered.
When you look beyond the Glass Lion, you'll see the Grand Prix for Innovation, Brand Experience, Film and more were awarded to work where is DEI embedded in campaigns. For us, this goes beyond 'representation'. This is about DEI at the heart of business strategy - and it IS smashing awards, hands down.
In this 40-minute talk with your Q&A, we'll explore four pieces of work, including Titanium winner, Bodyform's #Wombstories.
The killer question is: which of these pieces of work had long-lasting impact?
Hear from:
Stephanie Matthews, author, Senior Business Director, Creative Equals
Efrain Ayala, Global Director of Diversity & Inclusion, Marketing Excellence at Reckitt
Ali Hanan, CEO, Creative Equals + ex-Creative Director
Tickets are by donation at £10 with proceeds going to Mermaids.

Yesterday at Snapchat's offices...
Here are a few of the judges for this year's Snapchat Creative Council brief, including four of our CreativeComeback returners who were pitching ideas. Last year,Tejali Shete(centre), was presenting; this year she's a judge - and has landed a dream job: Associate Creative Director at Grey London. This is one council that does creates game-changing work - and gives opportunity for talent to shine. We're so proud to be your partners, Snap.
As always, thanks to Diageo for backing our returners: 23 out of 25 are back in work. HEART that.
Happy National Inclusion Week!
